We both came to America at separate times of our lives, and lived only 15 minuets away from each other for 40 years and we never met.
Thanks to the Maury Povich Show, DNA results proved that we are 99.95% full siblings. Both from the same mother and father.

A LETTER FROM MY SISTER ELLEN
Dear Family & Friends,
On May 18th, 1998 a blessing has come into our lives
that we want to share with you.
After 40 years, Maxine Deller and Ellen Goldstein-Rubinstein, have been
reunited as a family. We have found out through a DNA test the we are
sisters; we share the same mother and father.
Our Story began when an article in People Magazine entitled " A Sense of Belonging" featured in the October 26th, 1996 issue. This article traced the search of three adoptees from Greece for their natural parents. The women are, Jayne Bernstein, Andrea Friedman, Maxine Deller. While reading the article, complete with photographs, one picture was amazingly profound. Maxine Deller looked like Ellen. Ellen contacted Maxine, and we developed a deep and lasting friendship.
As we began to explore our case history's, together, for the last few years, we found many similarities.
Jayne Bernstein and Andrea Freidman were fortunate to meet with their biological families, as Maxine and I were not.
The opportunity to appear on a National talk show, MAURY POVICH, presented itself to us and we welcomed it. They offered to perform DNA testing to look into the possibility of Maxine and Ellen being related..
When the results came back, we were elated and astounded. The mix of excitement, love, and closure about our discovery, still amazes us !!
We want to introduce each other to our families and friends in addition to a very special thanks to all of those who have traveled this path alongside us.
Love,
Ellen & Maxine
